Nicola's Tasting Note:
Tasting notes: Pronounced nose, a step up; on the palate sweet but lifted by the acidity, intense flavours of apples, citrus, mint, herbs, with honey. A very long finish.
3rd Party Tasting Note: Stephan Reinhardt in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “Andreas Johannes Adam is a younger top name in the Mosel. Although he is about to bottle his 13th vintage, only insiders know about the outstanding qualities of Adam's Rieslings of which the 2013s are among the finest I have tasted for this report. Regarding clarity, balance, lightness, finesse and elegance, but also the confident style of his 2013s, Adam is already very close to the icon producers of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. Rarely have I seen a producer like him excelling in all categories from dry to sweet”.

Grower Information: Andreas Adam produced his first vintage in 2000 after completing his studies at Geisenheim and working for renowned Mosel wineries including Heymann-Lowenstein and Van Volxem. His grandfather owned vineyards in Dhron (old spelling Thron and pronounced “Tron”) but his parents decided not to become winemakers. Andreas now owns a total of 4.5ha in the Hofberg vineyard in Dhron and in the prestigious and vertiginous Piesporter Goldtropfchen. Dhron is the name of the village and also a small tributary which flows in to the Mosel from the Hunsbruck Hills. Winds from these hills keep help retain the acidity in the grapes and the slates soils ensure plenty of mineral flavours. Over the past 15 years Andreas has built a reputation as one of the finest winemakers in the Mosel, capable of producing wines in every style from dry to sweet. His wines combine an admirable intensity with pure, precise definition.
